 Ontario Institue of Audio Recording Technlogy

Queen's University Accelerated Route to Medical School -QuARMS

2017/2018

Every year Queen's University will select ten exceptional high school students from across Canada.  Once selected, these students will enroll at Queen's in first and second year degree plans in the Faculty of Arts and Science. During this time the School of Medicine will provide special co-curricular programming to prepare this group for medical school.  Providing they maintain the academic requirements, the students will start medical studies in their third year at Queen's.  The QuARMS students will graduate with their Queen's MD degree within 6 years after graduating from high school.

The Law Youth Summer Program allows students to discuss advanced legal concepts and apply them in a variety of stimulating environments within the reality of the Canadian legal system, while the Medical Youth Summer Program outlines the opportunities available in the field of medicine and medical research.

For 2017 students are required to provide their own accommodation and transport to and from the program each day.

RAC Digital Arts College Programs for Post-Secondary Education

Great Plains College

Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician Program

The wind turbine maintenance technician program serves the Green Energy industry which is emerging in Saskatchewan.  Wind electrical generation is the largest segment of the Green Energy industry with four wind farms connected to the SaskPower grid.  Also, a number of small-medium sized companies provide wind, solar and geothermal solutions to residential, small commercial and municipal customers in Sask.  Graduates from the program have possible streams of employment as an estimate provided by Great Plains College suggests a requirement of eight technicians per every 75 turbines.  Further information can be found in the Guidance Office.

Bachelor of Arts in Resource and Environmental Studies (BARES)

What is the BARES Program? BARES is a collaborative degree program that begins with two years of studies at SIAST Woodland campus in Prince Albert, leading to a diploma in Resource and Environmental Law.  Students will then transfer to the First Nations University of Canada/ University of Regina for the next two years to obtain a degree in Resource and Environmental Studies.    BARES provides opportunities to aboriginal and non-aboriginal students with future goals directed toward the successful management of natural resources in Saskatchewan and across Canada.  Some careers which you will be eligible for upon graduation are: conservation officer, environmental protection officer, wildlife/forestry officer, environmental consultant.   Past BARES graduates also work as enforcement officers with Environment Canada and regional environmental project specialists with the Sask. Institute of Human Performance

Over the last decade there has been an explosion of interest in the study of exercise science.  This is due largely to the growing recognition of the importance of regular exercise in the prevention and management of chronic diseases, such as heart disease, obesity, diabetes, depression and some forms of cancer.  The Institute of Human Performance at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) offers a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health, which is the only undergraduate degree programme in Hong Kong dedicated to the study of the science of exercise which has a particular emphasis on the implications this knowledge has for the understanding and improvement of human health.  Additionally, this programme offers attractive internship and international exchange opportunities and focuses on the enhancement of communication and problem solving skills applicable to a broad variety of career paths.  For further information e-mail ihp@hku.hk or pick up a brochure in the Guidance office.

Resort & Hotel Management Diploma at Selkirk College, Nelson, B.C.
