Aboriginal Student Awards Program

This scholarship is intended to support Aboriginal students who have at least 2 years remaining in their post-secondary studies. Scholarship recipients are selected primarily on the basis of personal and academic achievements, and individual financial need. The total of 10 students in following two categories will receive up to $4,000 per academic year for educational and living expenses for 2 to 4 years. 

1) Students majoring in disciplines RELATED to the financial services industry

2) Students majoring in disciplines UNRELATED to the financial services industry.

2016 Canada Post Aboriginal Education Incentive Awards

Canada Post's Aboriginal Education Incentive Awards celebrates the hard work of those who have embraced a renewed pursuit of learning.  Canada Post grants the Awards annually to recipients from across Canada.  Recipients could receive $1,000 in recognition of their efforts to improve their life through education.  If they have resumed studies after a minimum of 12 months out of school and have now completed one year or more in an educational program.  Open to all Aboriginal Canadians, recipients will be selected by a jury comprised of an Aboriginal community member and Canada Post representatives.  Complete application packages are to be received by August 31, 2016.  Full details are available at www.GoToApply.ca/CanadaPost

 


 

FNUniv Aboriginal Youth

Entrepreneurship Camp

August 8th - 14th, 2015

At the Aboriginal Youth Entrepreneurship Camp, students will have the opportunity to learn essential business skills while having a fun.Numerous fun activities (in the evenings) may include: golf, bowling, laser tag, or a trip to the movies.

There is no cost to attend the camp as it is fully funded through sponsors of the event.

Financial Management Awards

AFOA Canada and PotashCorp are offering $ 15,000 in scholarship to 3 Aboriginal students in grade 11/12.

Applicants must be interested in becoming a financial management professional. To apply, students are asked to submit a 1500 word essay on the questions noted in the application form and submit 2 letters of recommendation

Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority & the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies

Scholarship Partnership

The SIGA and SIIT have collaborated to advance education, training and employment oportunities within the First Nation population in Saskatchewan. The application process is open to eligilbe SIIT student until May 5th, 2015.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, the applicant must be First Nations, reside in Saskatchewan  and be 1st year student or a continuing student at SIIT in one of following programs: Business 1 & 2 year program, Information Technology - 1st & 2nd year program, Process Operation Technician I & II

To apply candidates need to submitt following documents: completed SIGA scholarship application form, most recent transcripts, updated resume, verification of First Nations status, an essay outlining career goal.objectives and reason/s why candidates should be selected (limit of 500 words). Applicants are encouraged to provide examples of their participation within the community, volunteer actiities and how they balance family, employment and education.

HUSKY ENERGY

Aboriginal Education Awards Program

Husky Energy's Education Awards are available to anyone of Aboriginal ancestry in Canada, who possesses suitable academic qualifications, is in need of financial assistance and demonstrates a career interest in the oil and gas industry.  Individuals pursuing academic upgrading at a secondary institute or post-secondary studies at a community college, technical institute or university are eligible to apply.

Scholarships will be awarded in the following categories:

University (maximum 4 years of funding) $5,000

Community or Technical College (maximum 2 years of funding) $3,500

High School Upgrading (maximum 1 year of funding)  $1,000

Aboriginal Education Awards application package must contain:

  • Completed Application Form
  • School Transcripts (sealed documents only)
  • Proof of Registration (original document only)
  • Letters of Reference (one academic, two personal)
  • Essay 250 - 500 Words
  • Aboriginal Mentorship Program
